Day 7 Mr. Trump--stop war! Korean Americans/Americans united for peace!
I refuse to accept the cynical notion that nation after nation must spiral down a militaristic stairway into the hell of nuclear annihilation... I believe that even amid today's mortar bursts and whining bullets, there is still hope for a brighter tomorrow... I still believe that one day mankind will bow before the altars of God and be crowned triumphant over war and bloodshed.
--Martin Luther King, Jr., Address in Acceptance of Nobel Peace Prize, 10 December 1964
Dear Friend—these repeated messages for peace in the Korean peninsula might be annoying but please do have sympathy for those who have waited for so long and desired for peace. Koreans, Korean-Americans and many fine American friends are united against any military action in the Korean peninsula. This week we attend to Korea’s leading presidential candidate, Mr. Moon Jae-in and the distinguished Korean American community, Council of Korean Americans. Moon said: "I will never allow wars in the Korean peninsula. I will do all in my power to stop any future wars in the Korean peninsula!... The United States must not act alone, such as preemtive strikes on North Korea". Like Martin Luther King, Jr., we refuse to accept the cynical and defeatist mindset. The solidarity between Koreans who love America more than some Americans and Americans who love Korea more than some Koreans will stop this war machine and bring peace in Northeast Asia!

1. Plea from Mr. Moon Jae-in, the Democratic Party presidential candidate:
Respect South Korea’s sovereignty!
The Korea Times. Trump must consult Seoul over any actions on N. Korea
"South Korea should be the owner of North Korean issues and take the lead in dealing with them rather than letting neighboring countries such as the U.S. and China manage them," Moon told reporters, Saturday, referring to the outcome of the summit talks between Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping. "The U.S. is talking about various possibilities regarding its confrontational actions on the North. The U.S. must consult with South Korea before whatever measure it takes," he said.

2. Plea from the Council of Korean Americans
CKA URGES CAUTION ON NORTH KOREA AS US BEGINS MILITARY CAMPAIGN IN SYRIA
WASHINGTON -- The Council of Korean Americans (CKA) urges our government leaders to exercise caution on North Korea as US launches a cruise missile attack on a Syrian government air base. "President Donald Trump has shown that he is willing to launch a unilateral attack against another country. This should concern all of us who worry about rising tension with North Korea," said Sam Yoon, Executive Director of CKA. President Trump ordered the missile strike shortly after dining with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the start of a two-day summit in Washington. It is widely believed to be, in part, a warning signal to North Korea. "As citizens, we have the power and responsibility to let our elected leaders know what we think," added Sam Yoon. "We urge our community to call their members of Congress and tell them that military force should be the last resort when dealing with North Korea."
